National Geoparks Council
In 2007, the Ministry of the Environment instituted the requirements and procedure for establishing national geoparks within the territory of the Czech Republic. CGS-Geofond is a member of the National Geoparks Council, which was established at the same time. Detailed information is available at: http://www.env.cz/AIS/web.nsf/pages/geoparky.
Geoparks are established in collaboration with various authorities in a given area, and with close cooperation of environmental protection authorities.
The Bohemian Paradise Geopark (Český ráj Geopark) Bohemian Paradise Geopark (Český ráj Geopark) is the first and, so far, only Czech geopark which belongs to the European Geoparks Network (as well as the Global Geoparks Network).
